I had a look on Flightradar24 and my original flight from Canberra, eventually departed at 9:43pm and arrived in Melbourne at 10:38pm. The Singapore flight boarded just before 11pm, so I probably would have made the flight but I don't think my checked luggage would have. Just glad that I didn't have that pressure, by taking an earlier flight.
SQ326 Singapore to Frankfurt. Boarded around 1030 but before that I have been for a very long walk through the terminal. Also took the trains over to T1 and T2 and had a walk around there. I managed 8k steps on Thursday and today 6,260 steps.
Pushback at 1107, taxiing started at 1112 and then stopped at 1125. 3 fighter jets then landed over the next 6 or so minutes and we lifted off at 1136. A really long boring flight. I had a cocktail before lunch. Grand Pineapple Daiquiri, and for lunch today, I had the Chicken Satay canapé, smoked chicken salad with roasted apples for the appetiser and Fried Hokkien Lee for the main. All very nice and washed down with a glass of Weinhaus Rest Reisling. Very refreshing. Lunch was finished by 1430. Quite a bit of turbulence during lunch. On a few occasions I had to hold the water and the wine glasses, to stop them from spilling. The cabin was kept pretty dark as it was extremely bright it the window shades were up. Many people put their beds down, to get some shut eye. I watched a couple of movies.
A light dinner before landing in Frankfurt at 1747. Disembarked at 1800. Walked over to T1 and found the lounge and sent a couple of emails. The flight to Paris was departing from a gate not to far from the lounge. I went for a walk through the terminal anyway and bought myself a Frankfurt magnet.
The flight from Frankfurt was due to depart at 2010 and arrive in Paris at 2125, where I had arranged a prepaid transfer from the airport to the hotel. The flight took off from FRA at 2100 and arrived in CDG at 2150. After picking up my suitcase I went to the arrivals hall and couldn't see my name being held, on any of the transfer drivers BUT thankfully, after looking around for 5+ minutes found the man. It was at least a 30 minute drive to the hotel, where I checked in easily. Did some hand washing etc and didn't put the light out until around 3am, local time.
I'm hoping for an earlier night tonight. Should have some photos on the next post and I hope to be caught up by then.
