Sat Sept 2 – Day 3 - Tour Day 1 - Welcome to Paris

I went to bed around 3am this morning and was awake again just after 6am. A bit of a lazy start to the morning.

After eating breakfast, I then got a map from the Concierge, marked where the hotel was on it, marked where the Arc De Triumph is and went walking.  Found that huge monument without too much trouble

 I'm really not sure, which is the front and which is the back.  Need to do some research but when heading back to the hotel I became a bit misplaced.  Was walking in the totally opposite direction.  Thankfully I finally found my way back.  Certainly in time for our official meet and greet, before heading out to out welcome dinner, which was held the Restaurant chez Francoise.

Eggplant with a roasted dried tomato and a delicious olive oil dressing, for the appetiser.

Beef short ribs for the main. Mine were not tender at all. Not having success with short ribs.

and 

a sliced apple and slivered almond tart with a vanilla cream dressing. DELICIOUS.

After dinner, those who were doing the optional went with Elizabeth Lindblom, our Swiss TD, who has lived in France for 35+ years and those not going, got on the bus and Rudy, our driver took us back to the hotel.  I've packed up for our 8:30 departure tomorrow morning, on our way to Rouen, Hornfleur and then staying in Deauville for 2 nights.   17,752 steps
