We departed the hotel at 0830 and passed through Caen by 0900. We all filled in our choices for the next optional dinner. Reached Bayeux by 0915 and picked up our local guide, Ann. From there we continued to the Rangers Memorial at Point du Hoc,
I took some photos of the gun bunkers, the overall area, a map of the area and the Omaha Beach memorials. Not necessary posting in that order.
After there, we visited the American Military Cemetery of Saint-Laurent.From there we went to Arromanches for lunch. I had a very quick lunch as we only had about 1/2 an hour, for those visiting the tapestry
We had to decide if we wanted to visit the Bayeux Tapestry Museum or the D-Day Museum in Arromanches. I opted for the Tapestry. No photos allowed.
From the tapestry, the bus took us back to Arromanches to pick up the others and then it was back to the hotel in Deauville. We had an included dinner tonight which was delicious.
After dinner, it was back to my room to catch up on this blog and do some hand washing and make sure everything is packed for tomorrows departure, where we are heading to Mont Saint-Michael and Saint-Malo.
Hoping to keep up to date, now that I am up to date.
